Orleans Parish School Board
Supplemental Educational Services
The Federal No Child Left Behind Act requires that Academically Unacceptable Schools in AUS 2 or above offer Supplemental Educational Services (SES) to eligible students. The Orleans Parish School Board has made provisions for the students of Priestley School of Architecture and Construction to receive Supplemental Educational Services for the 2009-2010 school year. This means that students can receive extra academic assistance to help improve his or her academic performance free of charge from state approved providers. There’s no obligation to enroll your child in SES, but it is highly recommended that you take advantage of the free tutoring services. For further information refer to the following links:
Power Parent !!!! - Parents, did you know you can be a part of the daily experience your student is having at school? It's truly an easy process for you to be connected to the school from any Internet ready computer. OPSB has a Parent Portal that provides you with a quick glance at the latest announcements from your student's school. In one easy place you can stay up on your student's schedule of classes, teachers, attendance record, current grades in each of his/her classes, upcoming assignments and test dates, and even communicate directly with the teacher via e-mail. The Portal is called Power Parent. You can even set it to notify you anytime any of your student's classes posts new information on the site. Staying connected has never been so easy.
To visit the site click here,
To get started contact your student's school office for a log in and password.

Accountability Reports - As a part of the process of evaluating how schools are doing each year, the State Department of Education genrates data amounting to a report card for the schools in our district. We invite you to take some time to review these reports, expecially the one that pertains to the site where your student attends. These reports can be excellent discussion points for parents and students as they are meeting with faculty and staff at the site or Board members and Central Office personnel around the issues impacting maximum success for students. At the following web site you can view the reports of OPSB school sites both current and historic to allow for trended information.
